The last event and coming in 2020

Thank you to all of our Ladies that participated in the 2019 Ladies Turkey Shoot today! It was a little wet to start, but the weather turned out to be beautiful! Full results are attached, but due to the number of awards and the new Longest Putt Made contest, every team won a prize today! Gotta love when everyone wins!!

At lunch today, a few changes were discussed for the 2020 season, open feedback was solicited on things we’d like to re-incorporate or institute for next year. A brief recap of items discussed:

• Three Divisions for League Play: 18-Holes, 9-Holes, and Gold Medallion (open to players 70 years and older)
• Member-Guest will move to a Tuesday MORNING start with lunch after play
• Clinics – Three-Hole Club, 10:20 Club and Spring Ladies Academy will return next year; Academy may seek a new day/time!
• “Play Away with the Pro” – One Thursday a month we will host a group of JRCC Ladies at a fellow club in our area for a road game!
• Christmas Luncheon – Scheduled for Tuesday, December 3^rd at 11:30am, RSVP to Daniel or Jeremy to sign up!
• Ladies Golf representative for special events (Rally, Turkey Shoot, Member-Guest, Invitational, etc.); if you’d like to assist we’d love to have you!
• Return of the Birdie Tree, Ringer and Most-Improved Player

Also upcoming, we have a new event, The JRCC-CNU Invitational!

Date: Saturday, November 16^th

Time: 11:00am Shotgun

Fee: $20 per player for the reception following play, plus regular golf fees.

This event is an opportunity to play with players on the CNU Women’s Golf Team, and they want to get to know you better! If you’d like to be a part of this event, please contact the Golf Shop and speak with Jeremy or Daniel.

Welcome back to League Play! We had a great day on the course today, as our group was split pretty evenly between 9-hole and 18-hole players! Upcoming events…

Rally for the Cure

Join us for our annual benefit tournament on Tuesday, October 29^th (9:00am Shotgun) to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation! We will host a 4-player ABCD Captain’s Choice tournament, sign up as an individual and we will help create even teams!

Turkey Shoot

Our final event of the season will be a fun one! The Turkey Shoot will be Tuesday, November 5^th (9:00am Shotgun), and a 4-Player Captain’s Choice! We hope to have a fun, welcoming environment for our last Tuesday, as we want to encourage our ladies that haven’t tried a League Play day yet to join a team and have a great time! Sign up as an individual and we will help build the teams!

Ladies Member-Guest

Next Tuesday, October 1^st is our Ladies Member-Guest, A Day in Tuscany! We will have a boxed lunch provided on the golf carts for the 1:00pm Shotgun, contests on the course, and a Mediterranean-themed dinner and scoring after play in the Clubhouse (about 6:00pm!). The cost is $80 per player, and if you are a single and would like to play, please let me know as there are a couple groups in need! We would love to have any and all participate!

 

Ladies Putting Championship

Next Thursday afternoon, beginning at 4:00pm, is our Ladies Putting Championship! Come showcase your “flatstick” skills in this fun competition. Sign up is provided in the Golf Shop! Any and all ladies on our Golf Roster are welcome and encouraged to participate! This will be fun, we hope you can make it!

5^th James River Invitational

Our annual Ladies Invitational is just around the corner and we currently have 13 teams signed up, which matches the most we have hosted for this event! We would love to set a new field-size record! The registration form is attached, and even though the deadline listed is today, if we receive any applications by the weekend, we would still admit them to the event. Please share with anyone you think may be interested! It will be a 9:00am shotgun with lunch and awards afterwards. Join us!

Ladies Member-Guest, A Day in Tuscany! - Tuesday, October 1^st

Join us for the Ladies Member-Guest, with the autumnal theme, A Day in Tuscany! Golf, originally scheduled for 10:00am in a previous message, will move to a 1:00pm Shotgun, with a Mediterranean-style Menu and wine available afterwards. Invite a guest (or three!) and sign up as a pair, or with a foursome! This will be a really fun event, one we hope will be quite memorable! The event will cost $80 per player (Member or Guest), and includes the tournament with golf car, on-course contests, dinner, and awards/prizes! Please be sure to sign up in the Golf Shop with your guest’s GHIN#!

5^th Annual James River Invitational - Tuesday, October 8^th

The week following Member-Guest will be the 5^th Annual James River Ladies Invitational, an event designed to showcase the James River experience to our fellow ladies golfers in Southern Virginia! We will not have League Play this day, but we encourage you to invite or sponsor a team to participate in this great tournament! The registration form is attached, so if you would like to pass it along to anyone you know, please do! I have forwarded the flyer to all of the club professionals in our Chapter, but word of mouth never hurts! Thank you for your support and encouragement of this event!

As we have now unofficially entered the fall season, we are very excited to present to you our 2019 Ladies Member-Guest, themed A Day in Tuscany! On Tuesday, October 1^st, invite a guest to come and experience the beautiful James River course and enjoy a Tuscan-themed evening, featuring a Mediterranean-inspired menu and wine!

Registration for the event is now OPEN! You can register as a pair or as a foursome, so long as there is at least one (1) guest in the group! The format for the event will be a 4-Player Best Ball Shamble, Gross & Net prizes. The event cost will be $80 per player (for Member or Guest), and includes tournament with golf car, on-course contests,  dinner, awards & prizes! We hope you will join us for un giorno meraviglioso (a wonderful day!) of golf and fun!

An update on upcoming schedule for Ladies League Play, 3-Hole Club and Ladies Academy. Next week,Tuesday, September 3^rd, the golf course will be closed due to AERIFICATION. We will not have 3-Hole Club, nor Ladies Academy next week. League Play will resume on September 10^th, and 3-Hole Club and Ladies Academy will resume Tuesday, September 17^th! All 3-Hole Club-ers are invited to come out to play Holes 16-18 on the 10^th despite no instruction that morning. 

Also, a reminder that Ladies Member Guest is coming up on Tuesday, October 1^st, so grab your partner and get signed up! You can respond to this message, or sign up in the Golf Shop. We also have our James River Ladies Invitational on October 8^th, which is a great way to invite ladies from other clubs to experience what James River has to offer!
